Bali the Island of God
Bali, known for its beauty, is the paradise island on earth. Its magnificent scenery is heaven for all nature lovers in the world.
Most of Balinese speak Bahasa, the national language of Indonesia (Bahasa = language). Yet Bali has its own local dialect, which is slightly different in different parts of Bali. Balinese are very proud of their local culture, which they have been doing for thousands of years, inheriting through generations. I have the best privilege in my life to be born as a Balinese. I'd like to share the beauty of Bali through my photos. The most famous flower in Bali is frangipani flower, or the locals call it Bunga Kamboja (bunga = flower). Bunga Kamboja has a wide variety of uses. The main use is for prayer and spiritual ceremony. Its good scent makes a very valuable room fragrance. Spiritual Culture in BaliBali is very well known for its spiritual culture. The daily offering like in the photo on the right is done everyday. Balinese believe in the three connections between the God, people, and nature (Tri Hita Karana).
The strong traditional and spiritual culture in Bali makes the paradise island one of its kind in the world. Harmony between materialism and spiritual, where both lifestyle coexist harmoniously, adds value to the Bali society in the eyes of the world. |
Talking about the beauty of Bali is incomplete without saying a words about its art and culture. Fortunately I can share thousands of words describing the majestic culture of Bali :D
